Es ist recht unglücklich, wenn nach dem Fußballspiel Mexiko – Senegal die U-Bahnstation in Nähe des Stadions geschlossen ist und alle Zuschauer nach Hause fahren wollen. Man kann dann durchaus 50 Minuten in der Schlange warten müssen, bis man den Eingang zur U-Bahnstation nur erahnen kann.

Der erste August war der erste Tag nachdem erstmals größere Probleme mit dem Londoner während der Olympischen Spiele aufgetreten waren. Es wurde von vielen Berufstätigen vermutet, dass sich die Probleme häufen und weiter fortsetzen werden. Dem war aber glücklicherweise nicht so. Stattdessen floss der ohne größere Probleme, es kam nur zu einer relativ unspektakulären Unterbrechung der District line nach einer Signalstörung in der Station Turnham Green. Größere Probleme entstanden jedoch nicht.

Nach den größeren Problemen am 31.07.2012 scheint sich der Londoner wieder gefangen zu haben. Am 01. August gab es nur kleinere Zwischenfälle, die zu keinen größeren Problemen geführt haben. Einer der größten Aufreger war ein Schild, dessen Aufhängung sich gelöst hat. Sagt schon einiges aus… ;-)

In den ersten Tagen der Olympischen Spiele 2012 in London gab es keine größeren Zwischenfälle. Dies hat sich gestern geändert. Am Morgen des 31.07.2012 gab es in der U-Bahnstation Leyton einen Feueralarm. Daraufhin wurden alle Züge der Central line zwischen Leytonstone und Liverpool Street gestoppt. Damit war auch der Olympiapark nicht mehr mit der Central line erreichbar. 

Leider blieb unklar, ob der Feueralarm in einem Zug oder in der U-Bahnstation ausgelöst wurde. Die Londoner Feuerwehr wurde wegen Brandgeruchs gerufen, konnte aber bis 09:30 Uhr keinen Brandherd entdecken. Die Feuerwehr verließ die Station wieder gegen 10:20 Uhr. Dennoch benötigte Transport for London sieben (!) Stunden, um den die Central line ohne Verspätungen fahren zu lassen. Die Bedienung der Linie war für über zwei Stunden eingestellt.

Am Nachmittag fiel der zwischen und International teilweise aus.

Gegen Abend kam es an den Stationen Cannon Street und London Bridge zu massiven Verspätungen und Überfüllung. Die Bilder von wartenden Passagieren in den Stationen ab 18 / 19 Uhr sind wirklich beeindruckend. Bitte anschauen!

Ich persönlich habe gestern gerlernt, wie schnell die Stimmung umschlagen kann. In den ersten Tagen waren die Londoner voll des Lobes für Transport for London, gestern hätte man die Verantworlichen am liebsten gelyncht. Ich habe auch das erste Mal Tweets bewusst nicht zitiert, da die Inhalte wirklich unter der Gürtellinie waren. Fand ich persönlich nicht mehr lustig…

Der erste Montag der Olympischen Spiele wurde mit Spannung erwartet. Was passiert, wenn die Besucher der Olympischen Wettbewerber auf den Londoner Pendlerverkehr treffen? Nach der ersten Belastungsprobe kann man ohne Zögern sagen: Nichts.

Straßen, Busse und Bahnen sind so leer wie nie zuvor. Anscheinend bestätigt sich meine Voraussage, dass die Londonerinnen und Londoner aus Angst vor dem Verkehrschaos von zu Hause arbeiten oder ihr Verkehrsverhalten stark anpassen.

Am 31.07.2012 gab es jdoch die erste größere Störung, die erhebliche Auswirkungen auf den morgendlichen Pendlerverkehr und den zum Olympiapark hatte. Aber dazu morgen mehr…

Der 30.07. war der erste Tag der Olympischen Spiele mit größeren Herausforderungen für den Londoner Verkehr. Am Wochenende mussten die Öffentlichen und das Londoner Straßennetz nur den Olympischen Verkehr absorbieren, gestern kam der Pendlerverkehr hinzu.

Und auch am ersten Arbeitstag in der Periode der Olympischen Spiele (am Eröffnungsfreitag war der Pendelverkehr schon vorbei) gab es keine größere Schwieirigkeiten. Mit dem britschen Premierminister David Cameron gab es sogar einen prominienten Nutzer des Londoner ÖPNVs.
